I failed to mention the Northern Gannet that I saw on Wednesday at the Chesapeake Environmental Education Center in Queen Anne's County. As I was scanning Prospect Bay with the spotting scope I came across a large resting white bird with its head tucked in. All of a sudden it lifted its head and a realized it was not a swan but a N. GANNET.  A few minutes later it lifted off of the water gaining heighth and three different times did its headfirst torpedo dive into the bay. It was an adult bird. It put on quite a show before flying out of sight.
