Emy Holdridge and I spent some time this afternoon and evening at the Race Rd. wetlands. Highlights were about 30 rusty blackbirds in the flooded woods by the transmission lines. Six gadwall are still present as well.

When visiting this location, it is important to park and stand on the wetland side of the road and to look at the wetlands and not private property. The local residents are not terribly birder friendly.

Directions to the site can be found on the Howard County Bird Club web site: http://www.howardbirds.org/birdinghowardcounty/RaceRoad/race_road_overview.htm
