Raptor Observations:
A good flight in the fierce winds; ten species; first good Sharp-shin day
Non-raptor Observations:
4 Northern Gannets; 40 Bonaparte's Gulls; 12 Common and 3 Red-throated
Loons; an estimated 2000 swallows, mostly Trees with a few Purple Martins
and Northern Rough-winged Swallows and the first Barn Swallows of the
season; Orange Sulphur Butterfly

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays. |
