I spent much of the weekend backpacking in Green Ridge State Forest. There were some early migrants around, including a singing Blue-headed Vireo just outside our camp. Another early arrival was several Louisiana Waterthrush. I heard two singing along Fifteen Mile Creek, and another one singing along another feeder creek that we also hiked along. Unfortunately, I didn't see or hear any grouse, but Wild Turkeys were numerous in the area where we camped. There were also quite a few Tree Swallows right around the State Forest visitor center and along Fifteen Mile Creek (near I-68).

We've also been having a Pine Siskin coming to our feeder (in Crofton) this weekend. I saw one siskin at our thistle feeder early yesterday morning before we left for western Maryland, and found one feeding at the same feeder when I returned. With all the goldfinch and House Finch that we've fed this winter, these were the first siskins to visit our yard.
