I visited the Oxbow over a late lunch and only have one new bird to add to Derek's list - a Double-crested Cormorant. There were several more Palm and Yellow-rumped Warblers, about 6 Hermit Thrushes, and the Caspian Terns multipled by 2 to 22.

An interesting event happened. It appeard one of our monstrous snapping turtles got hold of a Ring-billed Gull's leg (this happened near where the Caspian Terns all hang out). Quite a ruckus was made and got all the terns in the air. The gull struggled for quite sometime as I watched, but the water was probably too shallow for the turtle to pull it under. I continued to the southern cove and upon my return back to the observation area across from Gallinule Point, the gull was gone. So if you see a 1-legged gull around...
