Yesterday before going to Shad Landing I checked on the Eurasian Collared
- Doves on Pocomoke River Rd in Somerset Co. When I got there the doves wh
ere in full cooing mode. I cooed back and both doves flew on to a telephone
wire. I pointed the doves out to a person who was walking by and she
told me that she had them feeding in her back yard. After she left I noticed
that the more dominant dove started to walk toward the other dove and
attacked . Both where in the air hitting wings and scratching and making
growling coos. I took some pictures of the fight and as soon as it started
both doves backed off and sat quietly far away from each other.
Later that day at Shad Landing State Park I was trout fishing when I heard
2 ( FOY) Ovenbirds and saw 4 running in the brush near the pond. I also
cough a 15 inch Rainbow Trout, what a day.
