This morning, (Sunday, 12 April, 2009) I watched, from my bucket on Jug Bay, hundreds of gulls migrating north for about an hour. This is kinda bad news for all the gull-watchers out there, probably marks the end of all that fun for the season. They were all 2nd year or so birds and it appeared that they were 100% Herring-sized, and among them were 2 (that I saw) much paler birds that may have been something interesting, but not pale enough to convince me they were white-wings. There was also a Royal Tern (3rd day in a row now) flying around.
