We've had siskins (low of 2 and high of 10) at the thistle feeder stations literally every day this year, since Jan 1. Though I had several thistle stations out last fall and winter up until Jan 1, we had no siskins then except one day in late fall, when a migrant flock stopped very briefly. Currently we only have 2 PISIs, but they are very vocal! They feed mostly in morning but are here feeding occaionally and calling throughout the afternoon as well. We still have about 40 American Goldfinch daily at the feeders, and that number has not changed noticeably lately. They're still eating about 3.5 pounds of thistle per day now (along with a few other birds).

But something DID disappear which I have not read any posts about it: the Juncos! We had many (as usual) all winter, and someday between April 6 and April 9 all the Juncos here departed en masse. I would normally see many at our feeders, as well as all along the ROW of the main road to our house. I was working very long hours last week and did not see any of these areas during daylight between Apr 6-9, so I don't know what day they left, but they're completely gone from here now.
