Since I missed the Franklin's Gull Barry had yesterday at Back River, we
went up again this morning. Unfortunately the clearing weather made the
gulls more active -- quite a few Bonaparte's still around (maybe 200 in
total), scattered out on the river downstream of the bridge and also,
soaring high above the treatment plant. Getting flighty to head north after
the bad weather? Also about 4-5 Laughing Gulls, plus the usual Ring-bills
and smattering of Herring and Greater BBGs. No sign of the Franklin's
although it could have still been around. A few Caspian Terns as well.
It was high tide so no mud flats to attract sitting gulls--- might be worth
a try again at low tide.
