Hello everyone,

I made a brief stop to Mt. Calvert and a little longer one to Merkle on the Patuxent today. Notables at Mt. Calvert: five Blue-winged Teal, four Caspian Terns, 12 Forster's Terns, and a single Greater Yellowlegs. At Merkle there were two BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS in the back of the little pond on the left as you are walking towards the river from the Visitor's Center. Also, seven Greater Yellowlegs, three Lesser Yellowlegs, three Horned Larks, four Purple Martins, one Palm Warbler, and one YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER.
