Hi all --

Barry & I went down to Hains Point, DC, late this morning as we hoped the
two days of rain might have brought something in. The best birds were two
RED-NECKED GREBES (one getting well into summer plumage) on the Potomac
about 1/3 and 2/3 of the way down the point, respectively, on the river
side.

The only other birds of note were a Caspian Tern, an adult Bald Eagle
sitting rather unhappily in a large tree on the golf course, an absolutely
pure white dove in with Ring-billed Gulls, also on the golf course (THAT
certainly caught our eye for a moment!) and three Ospreys vying with each
other over the 14th street bridge.

It then started raining very hard so we came home without checking out the
lane near the maintenance area which sometimes holds migrants.
