Seen this morning were 2 FOY Brown Thrashers under the feeders along with lingering W Crowned and W Throated Sp. Also seen in the yard were 2 or more Juncos. A lone Am Goldfinch was on the thistle sock, but no sign of Siskins the last few days...

The chimney was swept today to make ready for the arrival of the nesting Chimney Swifts. I'm not sure that they have successfully nested the last few years in spite of early April chimney cleanings. Last year they certainly checked it out, but there was no "sign" of nesting activity after that inital interest; hoping for better luck this year.

An adult RT Hawk buzzed a group of Blue-winged Teal in a small farm pond off Lees Lane near Kershner's Lake a couple of weeks ago. Not sure how likely it is for this to have been a real attempt at a meal though. The teal initally flushed from one side of the pond to the other, but quickly settled down while the RT perched in a nearby tree briefly before flying off...
