There were a lot of flyover gulls at Schoolhouse Pond today, as well as a few terns. The Little Blue Heron was present briefly this morning on the side of the pond. However, it flew to the north west a little before 7:30. Terns included 1 Caspian Tern and 2 Forster's Terns. I had gotten a better look at the Little Blue yesterday at lunch. It is a first spring bird, with splotchy patches of blue coming in on the back and upper wingcoverts.

Huge numbers of gulls were flying over as well, the majority of which were immature. The cry of the Laughing Gulls was constantly in the background. Total numbers were:

352 Herring Gulls
376 Herring Gulls
177 Ring-billed Gulls
7 Great Black-backed Gulls
58 Bonaparte's Gulls

The Bonaparte's Gulls flew over in groups of 26, 28, 3, and one lone bird. 2 Blue-winged Teal (male and female) also continue.
