While driving in the back road into the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater, I thought I heard the chuck note of a Wood Thrush. I rolled down the window and clearly heard it again followed shortly by a different Wood Thrush in full song. Spring has finally arrived, in my book, when I hear the first Wood Thrush song. Now, they need to return to our yard so we can hear them singing from the holly outside our bedroom window!
