Sorry for the late post. 4/19/09 I birded the Pocomoke WMA and found a
Least Bittern ( Lifer ! ).
On Friday I took a short walk near Melbourne State Park and saw a
Swainson's Warbler fighting a Hooded Warbler. Later that day on the way to
Delaware for the Delmarva Birding Weekend my dad and I stopped to see the White -
faced Ibis ( Lifer! ) in Berlin and was very successful we also saw a
Peregrine Falcon hunting . Saturday morning I heard my first of year Great
Crested Flycatcher. later I lead a birding group for the DBW at Pocomoke
Sound WMA and highlights where the following.
2 + White - eyed Vireos
FOY Blue Grosbeak ( Lifer for one of the participants )
FOY Orchard Oriel
FOY Barn Swallow
2 Wild Turkeys
4 Marsh Wrens
Sunday was another great day with a FOY Yellow - breasted Chat seen during
the Meandering Meadows Trip
and a FOY Rose - breasted Grosbeak and Black bellied Whistling - Duck in
Delaware.
Today I saw my first of year, and first of yard, Yellow - billed Cuckoo
co cooing away.
