Hi Everyone,

Yesterday evening (23 April 2009) Carol and I took a ride down Nanticoke Rd, making brief stops at Roaring Point and at the end of the road in Waterview.

Highligts included a WILLET that flew directly over our heads in Waterview, a GREAT EGRET, 5 SNOWY EGRETS, and multiple vocal CLAPPER RAILS in Waterview, and at least 4 HOUSE WRENS singing and chasing at Roaring Point.

This was our first sighting of a Willet in Wicomico Co. We have since learned from Sam Dyke and Jim Stasz that Willets are annual (though low frequency) nesters in the county. Sam said that he gets Willet every year in marshes near Tyaskin, and Jim mentioned the Jesterville marsh as an annual nesting location.

Have fun,
