Hi all,
I saw 7 different species of sparrows in the yard this morning, my
highest total since we've moved here. Glancing out the side windows to look at
the feeders at 7:30, there was an adult WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW on the ground
(very beautiful in bright crisp plumage). This is my first adult, second yard
sighting for this species. There was a single Dark-eyed Junco there too,
as well as numerous Chipping, White-throated and Song Sparrows. A quick
walk around the yard and I found 2 Savannah Sparrows sitting in a cherry
tree, then off they went. A single Field Sparrow sat up in a low bush and sang
briefly.
Enjoy the weekend!
