A couple weeks ago on April 10th while walking in city park with the family I saw what I thought was a Immature Sharp-shinned Hawk building a nest. I didnt have any bino's and becuase the bird was not in "typical flight" I was mostly basing my ID on size and shape. After coming home I noticed that a SS Hawk is not a breeder in that area according to Atlas data. It made me wonder if it was a Sharpie. Today I returned and got some pics of the bird near the nest feeding on a small bird. I did not see a mate on either occasion but the nest is much larger now and its possible a second bird could be hidden in the nest. The nest is approx 30 feet up in a pine near the "band stand". The pics can be seen here http://picasaweb.google.com/MDBirder/Hawk#
