Highlights of t he DNR Bird Walk at Soldiers Delight this morning  included 7 Warbler species ( Northern Parula - 1, Yellow-rumped Warbler (Myrtle) - 50, Black-throated Green Warbler - 2, Pine Warbler - 3, Prairie Warbler - 6, Black-and-white Warbler - 5, Ovenbird -1) 5 thrush species (Eastern Bluebird - 4, Veery - 1, Hermit Thrush - 2, Wood Thrush - 1, American Robin - 14) and the patriotic trio of vireo ( Red-eyed Vireo - 1 , White -eyed - 2 and Blue -headed Vireo ). We had excellent looks at the Black-and-white Warbler, Blue-headed Vireo and an amazing singing Veery. Many of the other birds beat us in a game of sing-and-see k --  with the Pairie Warbler and Pine Siskins getting the award for best players.

I greatly enj oyed SD, the birds and the 8 birders (+ 2) that came out .
