Great early morning at HH with plenty of singing Orioles (more Orchard
than Baltimore). Also notable were a Common Moorhen and a Prothonotary
Warbler. I flushed the Moorhen which was in the first impoundment to
the right, very close to the small dike. It landed in the dense arums
and became unnoticeable. The Prothonotary Warbler was in the trees
just past the dike intersection. I noticed two similar birds chasing
one another but only one stopped long enough to give me gorgeous
views. Someone had seen Yellow Warblers in the same area but I could
not find them. I also heard Northern Parulas along Hunting Quarter Rd
and one Prairie Warbler along River Rd.

On the less pleasant side, there was a lot more frequent & louder gun
shooting than I remember hearing in the area, especially on a Sunday.
Target practice? Competition? There cannot be that many Wild Turkeys.
