After getting a great look at the Lincoln's Sparrow in Annapolis found by Dan Haas, I made my way through rush hour traffic to the National Arboretum where, despite light rain, the birding was good. It will be SUPER good in just a couple more days...
Best bird was a very cooperative singing Chestnut-Sided Warbler, a FoY.
Other migrants included:
_ Black-Throated Blue Warbler (FoY)
_ Common Yellowthroat
_ Yellow-Rumped Warbler
_ Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher
_ Scarlet Tanager
_ Northern Parula (2 heard)
_ Great-Crested Flycatcher (heard)
_ Grey Catbird (2)
_ Wood Thrush
Also had:
_ Pileated Woodpecker
_ Brown Thrasher
_ Eastern Towhees, singing everywhere
_ brief glimpse of a likely Baltimore Oriole
_ White-Breasted Nuthatch (heard)
_ White-Throated Sparrow, large flock
Plus the usual assorted blue jays, cardinals, chickadees, titmice, robins and goldfinches...
Good Birding!
