A nice but elusive small flock of warblers this morning at Ft. Bayard contained my first WORM-EATING for the park, as well as a BLACKBURNIAN, my first BLACKPOLL of the year, as well as a good number of Yellow-rumps and at least one other less cooperative bird with a song I couldn't be 100% sure of (probably a redstart).

Saw an entertaining dogfight between two Fish Crows and an accipiter I believe was a smallish Cooper's. Though the crows were mainly mobbing the hawk, the hawk turned it around and got in some good jabs at the crows, too!

The other interesting thing on this odd morning was the large number of flyovers by birds that don't normally come up here from the river, especially all at the same time--cormorants, gulls, osprey, and great blue heron.
