Native Plants Sale and another VA Rail downtown

Lights Out volunteers observed the following species downtown this a.m.
Birds were alive unless otherwise noted

 

Virginia Rail 

Ovenbird (injured)

Common Yellowthroat

Gray Catbird (one dead many alive, one injured)

White throated sparrows (many)

 

Also, if anyone's doing spring planting and wants to get habitat-friendly
trees, shrubs, or perennials, there's a great plant sale today.  This place
has every kind of native tree and shrub you can imagine.  Details below

American Native Plants with a little help from Green and Sticky, Inc. will
open its gates on May 3rd from 9am-3pm for another retail plant sale. This
time we will not only have 200 species of trees and shrubs, but we also plan
to have some perennials for Mother's Day, like:

Andropogon gerardii, Big Bluestem
Carex species, Various sedges
Monarda fistulosa, Wild Bergamot
Aster species, Various asters
Asclepias species, Various milkweeds
Solidago species, Various goldenrods
Chelone glabra, White turtlehead
Lobelia species, Cardinalflower and or Great Blue
Rudbeckia species, Various black/brown eyed/cutleaf susans
Eupatorium species, Various Joe-pyes
Zizea aurea, Golden Alexanders
Cimicifuga racemosa, Black Cohosh

The nursery is located at 4812 E. Joppa Road, Perry Hall, Maryland 21228
Directions: 
I-95 North past Baltimore to Exit 67B. At first light turn right on Honeygo
Blvd. At 4th light turn left onto E. Joppa Road. Less than 1/4 mile on right
at large green pyramid. Drive up gravel road to parking lot.
