Hello all--

I birded portions of McKeldin area of Patapsco Valley State Park on Saturday morning, despite my workload for my job. (It's hard being a birder this time of year and having more work than you know what to with-- I've only been out twice since March!) Anyway, I walked the trail to Liberty Dam and took a brief walk along the river and Poplar trail in the park. Total species was a bit less than expected, but I also didn't take too long as I had to get back to work. Here is a combined list-- most species seen in both locations.

Canada Goose
Mallard
Turkey Vulture
Red-tailed Hawk
SOLITARY SANDPIPER - Liberty Dam Trail
Mourning Dove
Chimney Swift - (Over Henryton side of river)
Belted Kingfisher
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
Eastern Phoebe
Great Crested Flycatcher
Yellow-throated Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
Blue Jay
American Crow
Fish Crow
Carolina Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
Carolina Wren
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Eastern Bluebird
Wood Thrush
Gray Catbird
NORTHERN PARULA - Both Locations
BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER - Both Locations
BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER - Heard only, Liberty Trail
CERULEAN WARBLER - Heard only on Poplar Grove trail. I personally don't count Ceruleans until I see them because I've been fooled once or twice in the past. But, I'm about 95% sure it was a Cerulean.
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER - Both Locations
AMERICAN REDSTART - Liberty Dam
WORM-EATING WARBLER - Both Locations, seen at Liberty Dam
OVERBIRD - Both locations
LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH - Both Locations
Scarlet Tanager
Chipping Sparrow
Swamp Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow
Northern Cardinal
Brown-headed Cowbird
Baltimore Oriole
American Goldfinch

Happy birding!
