I live within 1/4 mile of Little Seneca Lake (by Black Hills Park).? A great blue heron?has taken to visiting our lily pond to prey on the pond comet goldfish.? The fish are most vulnerable in the spring before the pond lillies leaf out.? 
We have an? ongoing battle now, and when scared off, the heron flies over and sits on the roof of the neighbor's house (see picture).? It looks as though we will have to leave the pond netting on indefinitely.? Any other suggestions about how to redirect this fellow to the lake?
