I birded the Howard County Middle Patuxent Environmental Area (MPEA) this morning to readjust my eyes and ears after being on the west coast for a couple of weeks.  The best bird was a SORA calling kooEE from across the river about half way between the connector trail and the wildlife loop trail. 

ROAD CLOSURE – Trotter Road had barricades both north & south of the MPEA Trotter Rd parking lot.  I learned Trotter Rd in the vicinity of the MPEA parking lot will have delays and closures as they install sewer lines through mid-June.  A recorded message at 410-313-3637 has project details and updates.

To avoid the construction, consider using the South Wind Circle parking, coming from MD 32 south of the MPEA.
