Dear All

Frank Hawkins, Greg Butcher and I did banzai whip round Hains Pt and thence to Roosevelt Is at lunchtime today. We didn't do anything like as well as Gail and Barry but the high points were :

- the six Cattle Egrets along Buckeye Drive
- shorebirds: 7 Leasts, 7 Lesserlegs, 2 Solitaries and 2 Spotted Sands (nearly all along Buckeye Drive)
- Little Blue Heron still in the same area but it got up and flew off down the Potomac as we arrived there. Flight views only, and was lost from site heading towards Alexandria
- Four BC Night Heron by the Tidal Basin (by where the first Cattle Egret was)
- 1 American Redstart and bunch of Warbling Vireos
- Around Roosevelt Monument - Veery 2, Swainson's Thrush 1, Solitary Sand 1, Scarlet Tanager 2, Baltimore Oriole 2, Myrtle Warb 20+ (but no Cerulean) and a waterthrush sp. heard.

Cheers
