Annapolis' Truxtun Park, Sunday Afternoon

Good evening all,

I didn't get to spend a lot of time birding this weekend, but what
little time I did have was wonderful.

On my way to the grocery store, I decided to make a quick trip to
Truxtun Park.  I didn't have my camera with me, and because of that...
every bird was perching mere feet away from me.  It was as if they
knew I was camera-less. At one pint, a Black-throated Green perched
directly above me decided to relieve itself on my arm.  I believe that
is a bird's way of showing it's affection, no?

Far and away, the best bird was a CHUCK-WILL'S WIDOW that I flushed up
into a tree.  Chris Murray and I got to observe this bird for some
time, and thankfully Chris had his camera.  He can tell you more about
it and post photos.  In any case, we went over to the park tonight to
confirm.  At 9:20 the bird called one time and one time only.  It's a
bit of a sketchy park after dusk, so...  we heard and we left.
