We woke up to a Gray-cheeked Thrush singing right outside our bedroom window. The last several days there have been Swainson's Thrushes there but the Gray-cheeked must have arrived overnight. Got to hear both Swainson's and Gray-cheeked songs. I was trying my best to turn the Gray-cheek into a Bicknell's but it didn't work. Maybe tomorrow morning it will!
Sunday night, a Swainson's was having a battle with a Carolina Wren. One would sing followed by the other. It went on for about a half hour then everyone quieted down for the night. I think the wren wore the poor thrush out.
