So, I've been enjoying this pair of White-Crowned Sparrows all week in
my back yard. It's been a daily challenge to get a decent photo of
one of them. The rains and dark skies haven't helped.
I decided a moment ago to try once more to get a nice, crisp, well-lit
image of the referee in the back yard. I almost succeeded, but this
other bird got in the way...
...a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW is feeding currently alongside the
White-Crowned Sparrow.
Migration never ceases to delight. I should also let you in on a
little irony. I took out what little grass was in the yard a year
ago, replacing it with mulch and more plants. This bird is much
easier to photograph in plain view.
I got 'some' decent photos, but will be going back for more soon.
Good Birding,
