Hello Maryland Birders,

The time for surveying our more vulnerable bird species as part of Audubon
MD-DC's IBA Bird Blitz is just around the corner. That is the reason why I
wanted to remind everyone that there will be a Bird Blitz training session
this Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 1:00PM at the Battle Creek Nature Center,
2880 Gray's Road, Prince Frederick, Calvert County, 20678-3322. This session
will cover all instructions and updated methods for Bird Blitz 2009,
including hands-on GPS training and mapping by hand. Also, participants will
be able to sign up for survey areas in both southern and western Maryland.
If you would like to help identify areas of critical habitat for our most
at-risk bird species, come join us for Bird Blitz 2009! For more information
on the Important Bird Areas Program and Bird Blitz 2009, visit Audubon MD-DC
online at: http://mddc.audubon.org/SciCon_IBAs.html or contact me via phone
or email.

Thank you and I hope to see you on May 23!

David
