I had not seen a post about this, so wanted to note that Triadelphia
Lake Road was closed by the WSSC Monday the 25th, and there was a sign
stating "until further notice". It was also closed when I visited about
a month ago. When I went Monday, I decided to park and walk down (and
two other birders who were there attempted the same), but I made it only
a mile until I came to a second barricade which this time had a "No
Trespassing" sign. I called the Brighton Dam Office, and was told that
the area was closed to all activity, so I turned around. However, when I
asked about the closure a month ago, I was told it would be alright to
walk down there, since the only reason for the closure was low water
levels, and they did not want people trying to launch boats. But I did
not get such a story Monday.
In any event, if anyone has more information about this, I would be
interested. The water level did not seem that low Monday, so I'm
wondering if there is some other reason for the closure. And of course
it would be nice to know how long the closure will last, and if there is
some way to convince them to allow birders to walk down there.
Incidentally, in my brief walk I did notice three Blue-winged Warblers
and a Blue Grosbeak.
