westerly, becoming strong in the afternoon, 5-15 mph, gusting to 21 mph
Raptor Observations:
Sixth Mississippi Kite of the season; 2:20 pm, age unknown. A second day
of good weather brought another late flight of migrants.
Non-raptor Observations:
Plenty of dragonflies to feed hungry kites

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays. |
