Birding in mid-July

Thanks to all for the suggestions. Yes, I often forget how much Tim enjoyed Northern Cardinals when he first came to the U.S., and for many years thereafter. Same way I feel about the Paradise Flycatchers in his father's backyard. We will have to find out if this is the first U.S. trip for these folks.

George - I had been thinking head west/higher to try to escape the heat and humidity to some extent, but also thinking that wherever we go, everything will be still and quiet except in the very early morning. I see that Irish Grove is mostly marsh and pond, with some pine and some open fields. And canoes are recommended (we don't have...). It is also quite a drive from the DC area. So I'm thinking that there must be some reason you are recommending it...some special attraction(s) that would make it a good choice in mid-July? You have really piqued my interest.
