I was out roaming Mont Co last Weds and Sat nights and failed yet again
to hear a Whip-poor-will. Wednesday nights foray was along Peach Bottom
Rd and points north of Black Hill RP. Saturday night was up in NW part
of county and back roads near Poolesville. Probably should have headed
over to Little Bennett campground area but became too sleepy and I am
not quite sure how to access the gated campground in middle of night.
Anybody know how many years ago, whips use to be found at the Little
Bennett Campround? I think its further back than last breeding bird
atlas period. Was access to campground easier back than?
