My wife and I took the kids on a bike ride down the trail today, they were biking, we were trying to keep up on foot :) We paused at the swamp before turning around and I was delightfully surprised by what I thought was the "fitz-hugh" of a willow flycatcher. I've only seen/heard this species once before and it's been about 5-6 years. Upon returning home, I listened to my Peterson CD and I'm split now between Willow and Alder, leaning toward Alder. I unfortunately didn't have my voice recorder with me, or binoculars, though that probably wouldn't have helped anyway.

I would love to have anyone in the area stop by the swamp and see what they think. It's a new bird for the trail, far as I know, either way. Please forward me any thoughts!! Thanks in advance!!
