I missed if this bird has been reported already, but there is a Common Loon at Lakeside Business Park (Sunday, May 24) in truly stunning breeding plumage. I didn't check any reporting or late dates, but this bird is probably considered late. On the very rare occasion, I've had Common Loon on the Susquehanna River during the Rock Run Mill May Count. For the time I watched, this bird seemed healthy: diving, preening, and doing the waterfowl body-raised wing-flapping (no calling, darn, maybe I'll go back this evening). A pair of Least Terns were also present. Lakeside is the site where the pair of Trumpeter Swans in Harford were observed. The loon is a real photogenic gem (Hint)!!
