My wife and I had an enjoyable afternoon birding today (6/13). We started in NW Carroll County where we saw three adult Red-headed Woodpeckers along Keysville Road just north of Sixes Bridge Road, and two male Bobolinks and three Eastern Meadowlarks along Walnut Grove Road at the sharp turn north of Bowers Road. We finished at Antietam Battlefield where we saw the male Dickcissel (reported by Elliot Kirschbaum on June 11) singing from the wires along Dunker Church Road just east of MD Route 65 and south of Mansfield Road.
