Hi all,
I received the following report of nesting Cerulean Warblers at Conowingo
Dam from Jim Scarlett, a birder visiting from Arizona. Please direct all
inquiries directly to Jim.

 Mike.
I am a visiting birder from Arizona. I don't have access to MDOsprey bird
postings. I am not sure how common Cerulean Warblers are in MD so you can
dicide if you would like to post this to 'MDOsprey', but I believe they are
declining. I also don't know if anyone has noted nesting Cerulean Warblers
at Conawingo Dam.

Yesterday p.m. I visited Conawingo Dam to check out Bald Eagles with my
daughter, grandson and granddaughter. Before leaving we walked the old
railroad trail going south from the parking lot on the west end of the
dam. We were treated to great views of a Cerulean Warbler with a fledgling
along the trail. The birds were at eye level, in low brush and bright
light right next to the trail. We did not try to locate the nest, but after
confirming the ID, moved along to avoid stressing the birds along an already
heavily used trail. The birds were located on the west side of the trail a
few hundred yards south of the parking lot at the corner (north) where the
woods break at a small building (pump house?). Beautiful bird.

Good Birding
