I only recently found out that Laura's life list was lacking a good look at
Least Bittern. She was on a walk at one of the conferences once when one
popped up and then down so quick that she didn't count it. So noting James
Moore's post on 6-21-09, we headed over to Lilyponds.
I was on my way to move the truck inside the gate (we had arrived early and
parked along the road) when Laura had one in flight briefly. Neither one of
us could relocate it.

Does anyone know the current status of the bird here? Was it confirmed on
the current Atlas for Lilyponds? It appears to be listed as probable on the
last one. Just curious to know if we should keep trying here or start
paddling a canoe around Jug Bay or something. Most of the confirmed breeding
on the last Atlas was along the Patuxent.
