Highlights of a walk at Blue Mash Nature Trail in Montgomery County on Sunday 7/19:

Willow Flycatcher (1)
Baltimore Oriole, heard only (1)
Lesser Yellowlegs (2)
Least Sandpiper (2)
Spotted Sandpiper (1)
Killdeer (7+)
Great Egret (1)
Great Blue Heron (1)

Other birds included numerous Canada Geese, Cedar Waxwings, Chimney Swifts, Eastern Bluebirds, a juvenile Northern Mockingbird, and a Gray Catbird carrying food to either a nest or hidden fledglings. Common Yellowthroats, Eastern Towhees, American Goldfinches, one Song Sparrow, one Field Sparrow, and a White-eyed Vireo were still singing.
