Hi all Last night 7 - 14 - 09 Between 7:30 Pm and Dark I went to Kent Narrows in Queen Annes County to get a full count on the Black Crowned Night Herons at their roosting pond between Rt 50 and Rt 18 near Wells Cove Road as they flew out to hunt for the eveing . Several hunted in that pond as darkness closed in . The first 4 left calling as they left sounding much like a dog barking . I also checked a few other near by spots as well. It is amazing how many Night Herons come out of there.
Several gull species were seen but numbers for them are rough counts.
