Hi all --

Thought the low morning tide would be good for a visit to both Kenilworth
Aquatic Gardens and Kingman Lake today. The latter doesn't open until 9 AM
(a little late for birding, hope this will change in the future).

Both places were pretty quiet but a few interesting birds seen:

KAG:

Green Heron -3
Great Egret - 1
Pectoral Sandpiper - 1
Lesser Yellowlegs - 1
Red-shouldered Hawk - 3 (1 adult, 2 imm.)
Caspian Tern - 1
Killdeer - 16
Wood Duck - 6
Willow Flycatcher -- family party of 4
Eastern Kingbird - 2
Cedar Waxwing - 1 (imm.)
Warbling Vireo - 1
Red-eyed Vireo - 1
Common Yellowthroat -3
Indigo Bunting - 2

Kingman Lake:

LITTLE BLUE HERON - 1 (imm.)
Great Egret - 6
Killdeer - 4
Wood Duck - 4
Laughing Gull - 2
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 1
Indigo Bunting - 2

Plus the expected Canada Geese, Mallards, Cardinals, Robins, etc.

Both places have a lot of Wild rice coming along so maybe good later in the
autumn for migrating rails.
