Jay Sheppard, Marcy Stutzman, Dave Brenneman and I went looking for Black Rails on Elliott Island Road from 8:30 to 12:30 Wednesday evening (22 July).  We saw nor heard any Black Rails and only a few Clapper and Virginia Rails and very few Marsh Wrens.  Quite a difference from a month ago when we had the same weather and light conditions and heard two Black Rails and had Virginia Rails and Marsh Wrens calling at nearly every stop we made.
