Hi everybody: I also checked the Turf Farms this evening after work (but did not run into Michael & Robert O.). I had none of the larger shorebird species that Bill H. and John H. had the previous evening.

My counts included: 82 Killdeer...2 Semipalmated Plovers...3 Least Sandpipers....2 Semipalmated Sandpipers...2 Spotted Sandpipers...one possible Western Sandpiper but I was too far away to feel comfortable with a confident ID.

The wet area seemed to be rapidly drying out. I was really hoping that the Black-bellied Plover would have stuck around. I also saw one immature Bald Eagle, quite a few Barn Swallows and 2 Bank Swallows flying over the turf farm fields.

A quick stop at Hughes Hollow to scan for waders produced only one Great Egret, several Great Blues and 2 Green Herons.

Back to Washington County tomorrow...
