At a bit before 8AM this morning I found 3 UPLAND SANDPIPERS at the Patton Turf Farm near Poolesville.  They were in the largest field (the first you come to when coming from Edwards Ferry direction).  This is quite possibly the same 3 birds found August 2nd, perhaps lingering here to fatten up before the long flight to the Argentine.  The lack of reports since then may reflect a lack of coverage of this spot.
 
I checked the Hughes Rd polo grounds out and back and found a juv Semi sand in with c 40 Killdeer but no grasspipers.
