Good morning,
I birded at Oak Grove this morning to take advantage of the frontal passage. Well, the front sort of passed. It was definitely cooler, but the front stalled off the coast and the low was sending clouds and a light breeze in from the northeast.
I found a couple nice mixed flocks along the RR between my property and Kinder Rd. The jaw-dropping highlight was a GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER. Completely unexpected by me as an Eastern Shore migrant. Obviously a new bird for my home list (#204) and my second Caroline Co. bird in as many weeks. I sorted this bird out of the flock 3 times, each time getting killer looks 10'-15' off the ground and 30'-40' away.
Second prize was another Blue-winged Warbler (last week's county bird - go figure). Also found an immature Chestnut-Sided, numerous Black & Whites and Redstarts. Other migrants were 4 Kingbirds, 3 immature Baltimore Oriole, 1 immature Orchard. The swallows (none) and sparrows (1 Chipper and 1 Field) had largely moved out.

Good Birding,
