During my lunchtime walk walk yesterday (9/2), I had an Olive-sided Flycatcher along the backside of Schoolhouse Pond. The bird was moving among high snags in the tree canopy over the trail, near where the trail passes the creek and utility right-of-way. I would never have seen the bird except for its repeated calling, which allowed me to locate it. (Sorry for the late post on this one. I thought that I had posted yesterday, but apparently it didn't go through). I watched the bird briefly among the treetops, before it flew further down the path and I was unable to relocate it as it stopped calling.

This morning was notable for the 3 Black-crowned Night Herons at the pond, which is fairly unusual. There were 2 adults and one 2nd year bird. Also present were 1 Black and White Warbler (male), 1 American Redstart (female), 3 Common Yellowthroats, 3 Great Egrets, 5 Great Blue Herons, and increasing numbers of flyover gulls (52 Laughing Gulls, 4 Herring Gulls, and 1 Ring-billed Gull). There was no sign of the flycatcher today.
