Hi all --

Rather a gray and blustery morning so we decided to try Wheaton Regional
Park/Brookside Gardens (Mont. Co.) today as there are a lot of sheltered
corners and lots of food plants. Turned out to be a good choice, we hit a
couple of migrant flocks including one feeding at eye level in vine tangles.

Birds of interest:

Red-shouldered Hawk -2
Cooper's Hawk - 1 or 2
BROADWINGED HAWK - 2, soaring overhead as some dark clouds started in build
in late morning
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 4
Eastern Wood-pewee - 1
VEERY - 2
BREWSTER'S WARBLER - probably male, showing golden forecrown, two separate
yellow wing bars, olive back and nape, black eye-line, grayish-white throat
and breast but with distinct yellow flanks (or sides of lower breast).
Resembled greatly illustration in Sibley (Page 428) of 1st generation adult
male.
BLUE-WINGED WARBLER - 1 brilliant male at eye level!
Black-and-White Warbler - 4
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 3
Magnolia Warbler - 6
Northern Parula - 1
Redstart - 4
TENNESSEE WARBLER - 1, bright olive juvie
Common Yellowthroat - 4
Red-eyed Vireo - 7 or 8
YELLOW-THROATED VIREO - 1
