A gloomy morning kept many migrants active well into the morning. I birded Kingsley trail at little bennett for an hour and a half and ran into some nice activity. Unfortunately, viewing conditions were absolutely terrible and I had to let many distant backlit warbler sps go. As I was leaving, I noticed the clouds starting to thin so I decided to head over to the ten mile creek area of Black Hill Regional Park. This is where things got exciting! As soon as I stepped out of my car, the sun was finally out and I was greeted with American Redstart, Blackpoll Warbler, Bay-Breasted Warbler, and Northern Parula. There was just a great mixed flock moving through and I followed it down to the bridge adding more for a total of 9 warbler species in about 15 minutes! Lists and highlights for the morning follow,
